IMF gives extra EUR 2 billion to Romania

The IMF, European Commission and World Bank decided to give Romania additional EUR 2,2 billion in total from IMF and European Union to help the country go through its recession. So far Romania already received EUR 13 billion of financial support.

IMF mission chief for Romania said that if the Romanian government implements planned structural reforms in time it will be able to meet its deficit objectives in 2011 and 2012 without the need for a large additional fiscal effort.
